I thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my blog.
I pray Home Sweet Homemaking will be a blessing to you, as much as it has been for me to share various thing with you all- strangers, but friends!
Okay, so here is me. My name is Esther and own and operate this blog, Home Sweet Homemaking.
I was born 21 years ago in Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
I was born at only 1 pound 3 1/3 ounces.
Through my hospital stay I was fairly healthy (for being a macro-preemie, that is). I did have Pneumonia, had to be given blood, took a while for me to breath on me own, got a cut-down, and a couple other things, but I had no eye problems (besides a little astigmatism– which might have been genetic too) and I have no long term problems that we know of!
Random ramblings about me
I love to cook and bake for my family and for anyone else. I have a goal to limit the amount of unhealthy foods I devour (yes, I wanted to use that word, since it sounded more dramatic….DEVOUR!!!) . This is a journey for me. One that will take a while. Slowly, but surely. Who knows if it will ever happen. Something I keep in mind is how much sugar has become a staple for those in Western culture. Sugar is a condiment not a staple! We need to treat it as such! There is so much to learn on the topic of food.
I actually really enjoy reading books. Like the saying ”
I really enjoy doing school- I may just have to start doing school while on a treadmill to stay focused. 😉 I am also an extremely outgoing and friendly person. I can strike up a conversation with anyone and I love hugs! With me in the room you likely wont have much (if any) silence. I love meeting new people and hearing about other life-styles. I get my energy from being with others. I am the definition of an extrovert! Although, I am more of a one-on-one kind of person and don’t care for being in crowds (not a extrovert trait actually!). I don’t like getting the flu anyway, so I just steer away from crowds!
I have a passion for photography and in 2013 my Daddy got me a Canon T3 as a surprise! I have upgraded my lens a couple times since then. I love being able to capture stunning pictures! 😀 There is much else that gives me more joy that being a photographer and learning new things about photography all the time!
One day I pray to have a family. I will be thankful for as many children as the Lord will give me. Being raised in a family that wanted lots of children but ended up with only 3 surviving, I want to leave the size of my future family to God. That means whether 2 or 20!
I love children and spending time with them. They teach me joy in the little things of life!
I really enjoy discussing and talking with mothers about the joy, pain, and life of being a wife, mother, and homemaker. I am so inspired by them, even though I know that living with the Biblical roles that we are given by God will be tough!
My favorite food is chicken- it is cheap (as much as meat can be “cheap”) and I am always in the mood for it. I am not picky when it comes to food, so I am very adventurous about trying strange new kinds.
I also have a huge sweet tooth, but I a trying to cut down on sugar since it makes me sick and it isn’t healthy in the first place.
I am a Christian, more specifically a Reformed Presbyterian (Covenanter). I hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms (Shorter and Larger). The Westminster Confession of Faith expounds upon the Scriptures and Sum of Saving Knowledge believe the Scottish Covenants (SL&C etc) are binding on the United States (Multigenerational Covenanting).
I am an exclusive Psalm singer during worship. I wear modest clothes (including head-coverings) in obedience to God’s Word and showing submission to both my Heavenly Father and earthly father.
My Christian Faith is a very big deal in my life, which will, Lord willing, shine forth on my site here.
What is my chief end in my life? To glorify and enjoy God! (This is the first question in the Westminster Shorter Catechism)
You may not agree with me 100%, but I hope you will at least read and benefit from some things I write.
I hope this site will be a blessing to you many years down the road.
Follow me on my crazy awesome journey following the Lord in every day living. This journey I call life
