On Monday I got my four wisdom teeth out. They were giving me daily excruciating pain and headaches, so much so that I could not function. It was “supposed” to get them out today (Friday) but they moved it to Monday, since I was in so much pain.
The surgery went well. The doctor said I had all my roots curved which is why they were causing me so much pain (and why my healing time is so painful and long).
As I sit here typing, my head throbs. The medications are rough on my body, but so is the pain. It a “choose your medicine” type of healing. Either side affects from medications or really really bad pain.
The pain is still pretty bad and I am thankful for the medications that help ease the pain for the most part. That being said, the medication makes me dizzy, spacey, tired, nauseous, and gives me headaches.
On top of that, I have been resting a lot.
I am not going to lie. I don’t like it.
I am an active person, but I can’t be right now.
But, there are many things in life we are not going to like.
What should we do? Think about the negatives in our lives? Or the positive in the midst of what might seem a cloud of negativity?
Yes, we need to dwell on the positive things of life…even if it is just that we have a Savior to lean on in times of dire need and hardship.
During this time I have been trying to think about things I am thankful for:
A house over my head
A loving and Godly family caring for me
Friends praying for me and checking up on me
Friends being encouragements
Encouragement of Scripture
Praying for others
Being able to do things (like type, walk, etc)
There is so much I could write down. There is so much to be thankful for! We just need to have the right mindset towards our life and our rough times.
We take so much for granted. Who stops and thinks about being able to chew as they eat their hamburger? Not being able to chew really puts that in perspective! We take every aspect of our lives for granted!
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.”
“Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.”
Matthew 11: 28-31
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
God is good always. He knows the best for us even if we don’t understand it now.
We need to thank God more.
We need to thank our friends and family more.
We need to put others before ourselves.
We need to be humble.
Stay strong in the Lord, my friends. 🙂
