I hope y’all are doing well!
I figured I might as well post an “update” blog post, since I haven’t written in a while. 🙂
So, last Friday my sister and I went hiking for about two hours with 9 other people. At least 2 of the others were experiences hikers. It was chilly, but perfect once we started hiking for a while. I am happy to say I kept up with the group…I even was next to the “expert hiker” some of the time…It was nice…Needless to say I totally felt it the next day and a couple of days after!!
I had great conversations with two of the other hikers, while my sister enjoyed her time in the back talking to our one dentist nurse, who joined the trip too! It was nice to see Tabitha just hiking at her own pace and enjoying her time. Now, THAT is the way too hike…I will admit; I felt a bit rushed when keeping up with the others….I did stop and get completely behind everyone else when I decided to take pictures.
The hike guide told us about different types of moss- Hair Moss,Cushion Moss, Log Moss, Etc. Pretty awesome for sure!! 😀
Here area couple pictures I got from the hike:
Don’t you just love the beauty? When everything else is still brown and dull, these stay green just like pine trees. Such a joy! I appreciate being able to enjoy God’s creation!
So…Spring is coming! Slowly but surely! It has been around the mid 50s F here in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. So, it is getting warmer! We will be starting up our garden for this year soon as well. I can not tell you how awesome it is to grow your OWN FOOD!! Well, maybe I can…I mean seriously, to know where all your fresh produce actually comes from and to eat it every day! It helps you stay on track eating healthy too.
It was nice to have a photography session the other week to work on! I absolutely love photographing children and babies!
I always learn something new each time! Here is a picture of the cutie I photographed the other week. Isn’t he a handsome buddy? He has the biggest most adorable brown eyes ever! He just about melts my heart… <3 SWOON!
I have also been keeping busy with college work which has been fun although a lot of work. I am also reading books from the library for History class and just doing my regular math. It has been great and a blessing! A good experience and I get a better taste of being more self-disciplined.
I have been reading through “Life Management for Busy Women” by Elizabeth George and it is amazing!! This book has been such a blessing to me to read through! Throughout the book she stresses the importance of prayer. Prayer to God needs to be consistent in our daily lives. We need to spend our time with the Lord daily- He needs to be our number one priority!
I just finished the section on “You and Your Marriage” and this section really caught my attention:
Be a Servant
Marriage is more than finding the right person. It is being the right person! So think not of yourself…but of your mate. From your waking moment to lights-out, serve your husband in as many ways as possible. Be his helper. It’s nice if he helps you once in a while, but don’t get caught up in expecting it or resenting it when it doesn’t happen. Follow Christ’s example, for Jesus came, not to be served, but to serve. (Matthew 20:28)
Even though I am not married this is something we women to keep in mind. We so often forget our God given duty to be a servant of our husbands (or whoever our Head may be at this time in our lives). May we be ever humbled to follow our duties as women in this world…This world that teaches us we need to be “Independent” and not need to be a helper to our men.
All her points were important, but this section specifically spoke to me when I read it.
–Are you a mother? How many children do you have and what are their ages?
–What is one (or more) important things you have learned as a mother and/ or wife that you want to share with others?
–What books have you been reading and have you been encouraged or challenged by anything you have read lately?
I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below! 😀
